The Idea Boutique had the opportunity to create Darin Colucci’s brand as an author and motivational speaker at the beginning of 2017 and continues to establish and grow his brand equity.
The design team presented Darin with a variety of logo options and color palettes. As we finessed and finalized the logo, Darin’s brand began to emerge. A subtle arrow in the “a” of his name reflects his message of moving forward and rising to success. The arrow motif translated into the design of his business cards, presentation templates, and social media graphics, tying everything together for consistency. The overall look is clean, modern, and age/gender neutral to grab the attention of a wide audience. Darin’s motto, “Success Is a Choice,” is also incorporated in various designs.
We developed a website for Darin that matches the look of his print collateral. This space houses videos, details about his speaking events, books, blog posts, and more on his background. Although he is a first-time author, we did not want to limit Darin’s brand to just one book, so the website has a wider focus. This opens him up to publish multiple books and wear different hats as a speaker and author while still maintaining his brand. This website is where all the entities of his brand come together in one cohesive environment.
In addition to branding for Darin Colucci, we also were hired to update his book, Everything I Never Learned in School: A Guide to Success to appeal to a wider audience. This included rigorously proofing, editing, and redesigning the original manuscript. Sketches and comps of the new cover design went through rounds of edits until the best version surfaced, revealing another iteration of the arrow motif. We believe the navy and orange colors pop off the shelves or your screen—you can shop the book at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
