Emme in Paris
Recreating a fantasy is our specialty at The Idea Boutique. In a world where true originality is near impossible to accomplish, our team thrives off combining the creative ingenuity displayed in mass mediums with our own personal and local flare. This shoot was inspired by the charming Netflix series, Emily in Paris, which follows Chicago marketing executive Emily Cooper, as she rediscovers her identity when an unexpected job opportunity takes her to a Parisian marketing firm. The series became popular through its serendipitous spirit and the protagonist’s over-the-top yet always on-point, colorful French-inspired wardrobe. These were the elements that influenced VIE’s EIC Lisa Marie Burwell to recreate this playfully-chic exposé one day as she described the feeling of being in the city of light while strolling through the picturesque park of Ruskin Place in Seaside, FL.
With the recent onboarding of Emme Martin, who has a background in modeling, and the collaboration with Slyvia Forbes, owner of An Apartment in Paris, a French-inspired boutique in Ruskin Place, the idea of “Emme in Paris” felt destined. The day of the shoot was one to remember as our fantasies came to life with the help of Rene Curry of Love Salon who recreated Emily’s effortlessly elegant look and trusted fashion photographer Lauren Athalia who perfectly captured the essence of joie de vivre we were looking for. Not to mention, clothing and accessories provided by trés chic local boutiques and vendors, Disco, Whitewash Boutique, Anthropologie, An Apartment in Paris, Becasa 30AVE, flowers by Peach Creek Blooms, Pastries from Black Bear Bread Company, and bike provided by Pedego Bikes. We can’t wait to recreate our next fantasy!
